THE BIGGEST STORY

Somewhere along the way, humanity lost the story we were meant to live by — a story that makes sense of the world, gives us direction, and offers something worth aiming for. The gospel tells that story: one of creation, humanity’s downfall, God’s redemption, and final restoration. It shows what went wrong, what God has done in Jesus, and where everything is heading. Read on to rediscover this story and find your place within it.

WHO IS JESUS?

At the centre of this story is Jesus of Nazareth. But who is Jesus? Answering this question may be the most important thing we will ever do. Everything, in this life and the next, hinges on how we respond.

Many people hold different views of Jesus. Some see him as a good role model or a great teacher. Others view him as a mystic, a political revolutionary, or a social activist.

The clearest source of reliable information about Jesus is the Bible, especially the Gospels. They make it clear that Jesus was not merely a man … He was God in human form.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, lived a sinless life on earth. Over 2,000 years ago, He died on the cross as a perfect sacrifice for humanity’s sins. But the story doesn’t end there: Jesus rose from the dead, demonstrating his victory over sin, death, and hell.

After his resurrection, he appeared to his followers and gave them a mission: to share the Good News with the world. He then ascended to Heaven, and the world now waits for his return as Lord of Lords and King of Kings.

ouR RESPONSE TO JESUS

One thing that is very clear from the Bible and throughout history is that knowledge and acceptance of Jesus is the ultimate life-changing experience. Jesus Himself said that he came so we might “have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).

To receive this abundant life, we must first recognise our sinfulness and our separation from God. We need to come to him seeking forgiveness for the things we have done, said, and thought – things that have separated us from him.

Next, we must choose to become fully committed followers of Jesus, living in a way that clearly shows he is our Lord and Saviour.

Admitting our sin to God can be difficult. But when we do, we can receive his forgiveness and begin a life that is completely transformed. Those who reach this point often say they sense God’s power at work in their lives and are never the same again.

Imagine a life full of hope and meaning. A life with purpose and direction. A life shaped by an authentic relationship with Jesus. This is the life that can be yours through him.
